David Brown and Patricia Williams (Selene-5918)

This site is where we can share details about our Selene 59, Hull #18, the build process, it's systems and our travels. The hull lay-up started on the 16th April 2008, was completed and shipped from Zhuhai in March 2009 arriving in Bobbin Head on the Hawkesbury River in NSW on the 3rd April where she was fitted with instruments and commissioned and commenced her maiden voyage on the 14th July.

The name Buena Vista also reflects a theme built around the Buena Vista Social Club, the famous Cuban Latin Jazz Club, which fits in with our love of Jazz and particularly Latin Jazz. The idea of the flybridge becoming our the Buena Vista Social Club appeals!!

Our first year has a cruise to Port Douglas in far north Queensland for winter, followed by a trip down south for a cruise around Tasmania in the summer months. Keep an eye on the "Where is the boat?" page to track our position. Website:http://www.myselene59.com/aspx/blob2/blobpage.aspx/msgid/545505

Welcome to Voyager and our travels aboard her. We hope to give you an insight to our choice of vessels, the building and outfitting process and finally our time aboard. About us: We have been cruising almost fulltime since 2002. We purchased our Catana 431 in La Rochelle France. We set sail in October '02 with intentions of spending the winter in the Med. When war broke out in the Middle East we decided to take a hard right and head for the Caribbean. Welcome to Voyager and our travels aboard her. Given that I haven't received my boat yet (due to be finished late February), I don't have any real news stories yet, but I have been working on a web site to keep the kids and some friends informed during the contruction process.
